Drums for every purpose
Do you need sturdy barrels to transport food or chemicals? Or are you looking for wooden barrels to use as decoration or a barrel for rainwater? At Moens Packaging we even have drums to store your damaged drums.
Types of metal drums
Metal drums with bunghole
Metal drums with bunghole are closed at the top and have a cap opening of 2 inches or ¾ inches. Through this opening, you fill them with liquids such as oil, antifreeze or soap. Do you want to seal your metal drums with bunghole extra tightly? Then you can additionally seal the caps with a cap cover.
Our metal barrels with bunghole are available with or without an inner coating. Metal drums without coating are useful for solvents, oil and bitumen. We offer coatings that make them suitable for foodstuffs, paints, adhesives or chemicals.
All our drums with bunghole are approved for transporting dangerous goods, both liquids and solids.
Metal drums with lid
Moens Packaging also has metal drums with lid in its range. With this type of drum, you can open the top completely and close it with a lid and a clamp ring. Do you want to fill the drum easily? Then we add an opening to the lid.
In addition, you can choose between metal drums with lid with a smooth wall or with ribbed wall. Just like our drums with bunghole, they are available with or without a coating. Food-safe coatings are also possible, but we always recommend adding a plastic liner for food products.
With our metal drums with lid, a UN mark for solids (UNS) or for liquids (UNL) is possible. Double UN approval is also an option.
Metal combidrums
Need a highly secure solution? That’s our combi barrels. These drums combine the best of both worlds. They consist of a metal outer vessel and a plastic inner vessel. Combidrums are closed at the top and have plastic caps. These drums also have an UN Liquid mark.
Reconditioned metal drums
Looking for an eco-friendly option for storing your products? Then our reconditioned drums with lid or reconditioned drums with bunghole are a good solution. These drums have been given a second life by burning out or chemical cleaning. That means we clean them completely, shot-blasted, dents are repaired and provide them with a new protective coating, both internally and externally.
Reconditioned barrels can hardly be distinguished from new ones. The same specifications are possible as for brand-new drums: both special coatings and a UN quality mark.
Types of plastic drums
Plastic drums with bunghole
These drums with bunghole are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). They are very suitable for food-grade liquids and water-based chemicals such as acids, bases and latex.
Our plastic drums with bunghole are on the top sealed and have 2 sealable cap openings of 2 inches or 2 ¾ inches. They are standard UN-approved for both liquids and solids.
Plastic drums with lid
The plastic drums with lid in our range are also made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). You can open and close the top with a lid with rubber seal and a metal clamp ring.
What can you use these plastic drums with lid for? Both for food and chemical products. They have a UN mark for solids and, if required, they are available with a UN mark for liquids.
Reconditioned plastic drums
The great advantage of plastic drums is that you can easily reuse them after chemical cleaning with soap. Our reconditioned plastic drums are an eco-friendly alternative to conventional drums and are UN-approved for solids.
Barrels made of recycled plastic (PCR)
Our recycled drums consist of several layers and materials. The middle and outer layer are made of recycled material, namely PCR (post-consumer recycled) HDPE. The inside, which is in contact with the product, is virgin HDPE.
The difference between recycled and reconditioned? Reconditioned drums are cleaned and reused. Recycled drums are new, but partly made of plastic that has been used before.
You can buy our recycled drums either with lid or with bunghole. An UN approval is possible, depending on the type of barrel. Important note: these recycled drums are not suitable for foodstuffs.
Types of cardboard barrels
Round cardboard drums
Cardboard is undoubtedly one of the most environmentally friendly materials to transport goods in. This material is the easiest to recycle.
Moens Packaging’s round cardboard drums consist of different materials for maximum convenience. The top is sealed with a stainless metal clamp ring. The cylindrical barrel itself is made of smooth kraft cardboard and consists of natural fibres. This makes for a very light and sturdy packaging.
Depending on the contents, different protective coatings are possible, both on the inside and outside. The cardboard drums are UN-approved for solids and are easily combined with plastic liners for extra safety.
Square cardboard drums
Why choose square cardboard drums? Simple, because they save you transport costs. This is because these barrels are easy to stack on a pallet. They contain the same properties as round cardboard barrels.
Special barrels for pharmaceutical products
Curtec drums with screw lid
Need drums for pharmaceutical products, special chemicals and food ingredients? The Curtec drums with screw lid are ideal for that. The sophisticated base and lid construction allow stable stacking of the drums.
These special drums come in many sizes and are approved for solids. The rubber ring in the lid prevents liquids from leaking out.
Stainless steel drums
Stainless steel drums are very suitable for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. They can withstand the most aggressive products.
Time to fill the barrels
Empty drums sound the hollowest, they sometimes say. But that does not apply to Moens Packaging. We know our barrels inside out. So that we can give you the best advice. Want to know which type of drum is suitable for your products? Get in touch with us.
