When transporting hazardous materials, safety is of paramount importance. We offer a wide range of UN-certified boxes, including the corresponding tape and vermiculite. Whether you are a filler or forwarder, we are happy to help you find the right packaging solutions for your specific needs.
4G boxes are UN-certified cardboard boxes suitable for transporting hazardous materials. They are tested and approved as a combination packaging, meaning that both the box and the inner packaging (such as bottles, cans, etc.) must be tested and approved together as one unit. This specific inner packaging is listed in the test report. In addition, the maximum gross weight and closure requirements specified in the test report (dimensions of the adhesive tape, type of adhesive tape and closure system) must be observed.
4GV boxes are UN-certified boxes specially designed for variable inner packaging. The ‘V’ in 4GV stands for ‘variable packaging’. This means that you can put different types of inner packaging (such as bottles, cans, etc.) in the box, without having to recertify each specific combination of inner packaging.
To use UN-certified 4GV boxes correctly, you must use them together with vermiculite (inert absorbent material) and cross-reinforced tape. You must use the type of absorbent material and possibly a PE liner with which the box is UN-tested. In addition, the maximum gross weight, the minimum distance between the inner packaging and the box walls, and the closure requirements specified in the test report (dimensions of the adhesive tape, type of adhesive tape and closure system) must be observed. Any unauthorised modification would invalidate the certification.

Since we have no information either on the composition of the product to be filled by your company or the circumstances under which this will take place, or on the method of transport of the filled packaging and their accessories, we are not in a position to give any definite opinion regarding the compatibility with the materials used. At all times, the customer remains responsible for any damage or defects. We therefore recommend that, in your own interest, product compatibility tests as well as stability tests be carried out.
