Improvement of open top metal drums

Greif improvement of the 200L UN Liquid drums – no production of 200L drums from 6-17the of June 2024

With this notification we would like to inform you that Greif have scheduled an improvement on their large steel drum production line in Ghent.

Between June 6 and June 17, they will replace a part of the production line, resulting in a design change for the large steel open head un liquid drums from Ghent. As a result GREIF will have no production of 200L drums in Ghent this period.

For the large steel open head UN Liquid drums, following changes will apply to the design of the drum:

Lid gasket and closing ring for the UN Liquid drums will change: This concerns our references: 211911201, 211f00040, 211F00147 and 211F00305

The current Ghent design uses a profiled gasket and a specific type of closing ring which is used in combination with a negative corrugation right under the top seam. The closing ring fits inside the negative corrugation.

The current Greif design uses a different type of (beige) round gasket in combination with a different type of closing ring. The Greif design does not have a negative corrugation.
